Resaro has been accredited under the AI Tester Accreditation Programme (AI TAP), making it one of the first firms to receive the accreditation since the AI Verify Foundation launched the programme.
AI TAP is the first accreditation programme for third-party AI testing providers. Its purpose is to build a pipeline of firms capable of rigorously assessing AI applications across sectors including healthcare, finance, hiring and public services.
Firms seeking accreditation are evaluated on their technical testing competency, track record, delivery capability and financial sustainability, and accredited firms are reviewed regularly so that the standard keeps pace with developments in AI.
As organisations deploy AI in settings where its outputs carry real consequences, demand is growing for testing carried out independently of the team that built the system. Organisations engaging an external tester, however, have had limited means of judging that tester's own competence. By setting out what a credible AI assurance testing service should look like, AI TAP gives businesses and public agencies a reference point when engaging firms to identify safety and reliability risks in their AI applications, and in turn supports wider trust in the use of AI.
